UVBC supports the work of the Lord Jesus around the world. We currently have Church Members and other Christian friends working in Albania, Cameroon, Iryan Jaya, France, Kenya, Moldova, Mongolia, Monrovia, South Central Asia, & Zimbabwe.
We also support a young couple who are training to go back to Mexico City to engage in work with Street Children & with Church Development.

The Lord knows the work they do and the daily sacrifices they make. They work in dangerous places often in the face of unstable political regimes who have no love for Jesus and do not appreciate that his work includes healing the sick, teaching, & protecting children; as much as inviting people he is calling to follow him.

Our friends and members of this church are working to fulfill Jesus’ last command “Go and teach all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.” They do so in the power of the Holy Spirit and so depend upon your prayers for safety, health, food and warmth.

You are welcome to support all this and more at the regular M3 prayer meeting in the Cottage Café. Next meeting Thursday 22nd May, 7.30pm.

M3 is a triple focused meeting, majoring on concern for the Persecuted Church, for Disadvantaged Children, and finally for all
mission related work.
Come and pray for Phil, Louise, Mary, Jeff, Pat, Jane, Roger, Debra, Helen, Mark, Marie, Don & Evey, Peter K, Steve, Helen and Bex, We will also pray & write to Christians persecuted and suffering around the world.

Hot topics in a cold world!

  • Pray for Helen especially during this time of transition in Zimbabwe.
  • Pray and thank the Lord for Steve and Helen’s new baby .
  • Pray about the Mitchells’ return home and retirement in May. England has changed in the time they have been away and they need our love and support during the early YEARS (not days) whilst they adapt to retirement here in Torquay after years of heroic effort for the health of the people of Cameroon
  • Pray for Mary as she has again extended her stay on the Mercy Ship.

Here is an extract from her diary…

"Hi every one here is a taste of life here!

Yesterday I was allocated to help on the dockside screening 90+ patients who have travelled many miles for help.  We were screening for patients who needed plastic surgery.  Not face lifts!!!  some of these people did not have a face!!

Our first patient was a dear lady who had the most horrible tumour growing out of the bottom of her left foot. She could not straighten her leg or stand on this foot.  The surgeon saw this lady and examined her.. she had Melanoma cancer ( skin cancer) which had spread into her glands. The poor lady was in terrible pain..  After examination I had to take her for Xrays.  so we gave her some crutches to help her walk.  She hobbled out of the room and outside this young man came up to us.  It was her son, and he took her on his back and carried her!!  This was the way this lady had got around! and how she came to us.  This young man was not big but he was so pleased to be helping his Mum!  My I had tears in my eyes!!   It reminded me of the story of the foot prints in the sand and how God carries us if we let him..

There was not much we could do for this poor lady except amputate her leg below her knee. She knew she was going to die and we just wanted to take her pain away as her foot was so terribly painful. Surgery is booked for later this week. This was just the beginning of the day and we had another 90+ patients to see!"

Well that’s enough for this month. Keep checking this space and our Mission display board in The Link at UVBC.
You will also find information letters from many of our missionaries and related organizations in the pigeonholes between the main doors.
