ANDREW FORDYCE

Andrew is a Consultant at Torbay Hospital where he works with a team helping them with their systems, reducing waiting and improving the quality and safety of healthcare. Andrew describes himself as 'quick to listen and slow to speak' and longs for the local church to be known by people as the place to get answers to their problems.
ANDREW GREEN

Tea (darjeeling!) and curries feature high on Andrew's list of good stuff, habits probably started from his upbringing in India. He is also a keen rugby fan - which occassionally gets a mention in a sermon!
Andrew has pastored Baptist Churches in Manchester, inner-city London and leafy Surrey and has been here at Upton Vale for more than 22 years with his wife, Jenny, beside him. They have three children and five grandchildren.
Bible teaching, pastoral care, ministering and helping others to grow are all dear to Andrew's heart. He is an avid reader with a HUGE personal library, and his knowledge and wisdom are shared in his powerful sermons.
ANDY WHITE

Andy is involved in the prayer ministry of the church, plus the youth discipleship, and describes his involvement with the P.A. system and working as a Street Pastor as relaxation!
Andy feels passionate about the need of the church to be involved in, and to be a part of, the community that is Torbay, showing the love of Christ both spiritually and practically to our neighbours.
BILL ARNOLD

An active member of the Pastoral Action Team, Bill is a passionate believer, pray-er and encourager. Bill is a “retired” minister – a misnomer as Bill works as hard as ever for the Lord and his people! He and his wife, Joan, have just celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary...!
DAVID JONES
An active member of the Music Ministry team (he plays a mean trombone!), David has also served as Worship Leader as well as a House Group leader, a Deacon and an Elder!
David served in the Welsh Guards in Chelsea Barracks for a number of years. He and his wife, Beverly, moved back to south Devon (local boy!) where David set up his own business.
GRAHAM McBAIN

Our Head of Adult Ministries (etc. etc. etc.!), Graham and his wife, Mairi, have been in Torquay since January 2011 when they moved back to the U.K. with their three children after eight years in Albania, church planting with B.M.S. He is a mountain bike fan – the dirtier the better, apparently! He enjoys playing and listening to music and regards himself a pretty good cook (take note!).
Graham was pastor at a Dagenham church before going to Albania, and is committed to encouraging people in their own faith journeys so that more people know and follow Jesus.
JOEL WARD

Our Youth Pastor, Joel, has been in full-time Youth Ministry since 2001 and studied at Oasis Trust/Spurgeons College for a BA (Hons) degree in youth work and ministry.
His work has involved running youth clubs, music projects and mission, social action and evangelistic initiatives and he loves seeing young people empowered through mission, service and music. He believes the key to a Church engaging successfully with young people is an approach which combines inspiration to follow Jesus, encounter with Jesus and empowerment to act for Jesus, so that young people can, in turn, inspire others with the awesome impact of the presence of Christ in their lives.
PHIL PHILLIPS
Phil is married to Rachel and they have three married children and two lovely grandchildren (so far!). They moved to Torquay six years ago when Phil became Church Administrator following early retirement from Hewlett Packard. Phil loves to use his business experience to help churches fulfil their mission. At Upton Vale he is principally responsible for finance, governance and major projects and oversees the church office and management of the premises. Phil is a local magistrate and enjoys family, travel and good conversation.
SALLY SUTTON

Sally has been part of the Finance Team and Chair of Human Resources Action Team for a number of years and has just started working with Graham McBain on setting up the new Social Action Team which will look at the way the Church will move forward following the “October Walk Out”. Sally is also Chair to the C.L.T. (Church Leadership Team). She has a lot of experience and expertise in dealing with finance and human resources but is also someone who welcomes on the door and helps on the coffee rota!
WENDY JOHN
Wendy is involved with the community of the church including Pastoral Council, Welcome Team, Belonging, Area Pastors, Monday Lunches, Cameo, Just for Women and the Flower team. Her background in education, and in particular the pastoral side of team building and caring for teachers and pupils alike, has given her the skills required to work in the area of pastoral care.
