What's it like & who's it for?

We are quite an eclectic group with a wide range of ages and learning styles so consequently we have a very varied approach to what we do.  In addition to studying scripture, we also use carefully selected DVDs and we see shared lively discussion as an intrinsic part of who we are.  Anyone may choose to lead or make a suggestion for a subject to study.  We have studied "The Shack" and have approached scripture through a theme eg 'fire'.  We have debated  some fairly sensitive topics such as euthanasia or abortion and  considered such issues from a Christian perspective.  We have watched the film "The Age of Stupid" and debated the Christian role and responsibility in global warming and caring for the environment.  Our group has a Prayer Co-ordinator and a Secretary who organises all the dates and events and a member who takes a keen interest in pastoral care.  This, we feel, encourages members to take ownership of the group and feel fully integrated.  Social events are also important to us and we have had some great lunches, pub visits and parties together.

What's it like & who's it for?

We are a very relaxed and informal "bunch" who enjoy getting together to study and apply everything we discuss to everyday life. No question or comment is too silly or basic.
We are growing together - deeper in Christ and deeper with each other. We want to support and encourage - we are building "community".
We spend time over tea and coffee sharing about our lives, we share in the study and then in a time of prayer. We want our lives to reflect Jesus and impact those we meet.
We also have regular social evenings, usually based around food!
We meet on a Tuesday evening starting with coffee and "chat" from 8pm. We start our study at 8.30pm finishing the evening by about 10pm.
