  • Christian students in the Ukraine have been sponsored through Hope Now Ministries to do a course in public banking. In the past Christians have been denied higher education.
  • Children of an Indian pastor have had their schooling paid for from money collected in the "World Box" by the till.

    Future plans include:

  • Sponsorship of a Spurgeon's Childcare project in Northern Mexico
  • Help towards payment of staff wages at another Spurgeon's Childcare project at a kindergarten in Moldova

    In the last financial year the Cottage Cafe has a turnover of £34428. This generated a profit of £21400 which was donated to overseas Christian projects. £4640 of the turnover wa due to the sale fo TEAR Fund and Traidcraft items, resulting in over £26000 being sent to developing countries.

    Background

The Cottage Cafe began trading in November 1984. Its aim, then as now, to raise money for Christian projects in poorer parts of our world.

In the past 7 years £65 000 has been given to projects as far afield as Cameroon, Peru, Mali, India and the Philipines.

The Cafe is staffed by volunteers and is open Monday - Friday 10 am - 4 pm.

We serve a variety of beverages, toasted sandwiches, jacket potatoes, homemade soup and cakes.

We also stock a range of Tearcraft and Jacobs Well products as well as a selection of cards.
