 Girls' Brigade is an international uniformed organisation. It aims to help girls learn about the Christian faith whilst having lots of fun at the same time!
Girls' Brigade is split into four age groups:

Explorers aged 4 -7 (school years R-2)

Juniors aged 7-9 (school years 3-5)
-
Seniors aged 10-12 (school years 6-8)
-
Brigaders aged 13+ (school year 9+) 
Each year, girls work towards a badge. In order to achieve this badge they do four sets of ‘badgework' based on each of the following parts:

Spiritual
-
Physical
-
Educational
-
Service
This spells ‘SPES' which is the Latin word for ‘Hope' - the ‘Hope' that we have for the future of each and every girl who undertakes badgework.
When and where does 1st Torquay Girls' Brigade meet?
Girls' Brigade meets every Friday during term time in the Main Hall at Upton Vale Baptist Church.
The Spring term starts on Friday 13th January to 30th March (no meeting half term 17th February).
The Explorer and Junior sections meet between 5.45pm and 7.15pm and the Senior and Brigader sections meet between 7pm and 8.30pm.
How much does it cost?
It costs 50p each week. We also have a tuck shop most weeks which sells sweets and also pens, stickers and rubbers.

The emphasis of Girls' Brigade is to help girls to learn about God whilst having lots of fun!
