the cottage cafe.pngThe Cottage Cafe is open Mondays to Fridays from 10am until 4pm. We sell home made cakes and homemade soups with cottage rolls. Also on the menu are toasted sandwiches, jacket potatoes, ploughmans lunch and smoked salmon bagels. We sell fairtrade fresh ground coffees, and fairtrade tea as well as local organic fruit juices.

On the shelves you will find fairly traded gifts from Created (Tearcraft) and also a selection of Traidcraft fairtrade food. We also have a range of local cards and the Leonard Smith range of Christian cards.

Our Cottage Cafe is staffed by volunteers and all the profits from the Cafe are given to Christian projects overseas. Each year we give in the region of £20,000 away to support different projects.

In the last year we gave £18,374 away. Recently we've supported a 'children at risk' programme in Nairobi by giving them £4,000. We provided £1,000 for a water tank in South India and have given £5,000 to a project in Southern Sudan.  We have also provided financial support to a health project in Albania, a kindergarten in Moldova and support several children in their education.

We have just celebrated our Cottage Cafe's 25th anniversary and to mark this special occasion we have produced a Cottage Cafe mug! A local firm in Cornwall supplied the fine bone china mugs. Mugs can be purchased from the Cafe or from the Church Office (01803 400403) and are priced £4.50 each or buy six for £24!
